Local officer wins national award for West Harrow community policing

Dear Residents,

Your community support officer David Neal has won the Neighbourhood Watch Community Policing Award after being nominated by West Harrow locals.

PCSO Neal joined the Met after a lengthy career in business as he wanted to do something community driven before he retired.

You may have seen him out and about on foot patrol, speaking to members of the community, or running one of his engagement activities which he does weekly.

One notable event is his pop-up outside Tesco’s Express where he chats to people coming in to do their shopping.

PCSO Neal also regularly speaks to residents at their homes to give them crime prevention advice.

As a big believer in police being visible in the local area, PCSO Neal said, “It’s about being out there. The more people you see, the more opportunity it gives you to have a conversation.”

“It’s a wonderful thing to be recognised for serving my ward. I am thrilled and honoured.”
